Dhaulagiri

Dhaulagiri Himalaya Range

The Dhaulagiri region, located in western Nepal, is home to the seventh-highest mountain in the world, Dhaulagiri (8,167 m). This region offers a diverse range of landscapes, from dense forests to snow-capped peaks. With a relatively low population density, with approximately 68 people per square kilometer. The majority of the population belongs to the Gurung and Magar ethnic groups.

With a diverse landscape including deep valleys, lush forests, and towering peaks Dhaulagiri is also home to several glacial lakes, such as Lake Rara, one of the largest lakes in Nepal. This region offers challenging but rewarding trekking experiences. One of the most popular treks includes the Round Dhaulagiri Trekking, which provides opportunities to explore remote villages, encounter diverse wildlife and witness stunning mountain views.
